DescriptionA light tan, painted plaster, front-facing head and neck sculpture of Abraham Lincoln attached to a low, darkly stained wood base. At his neck is a shirt collar and bow tie. Inscribed into the back of the bust is the artist's information: COPYRIGHT BY / HENRY HERING / SCULPTOR. Additional text inscribed below reads: TO THE PRESIDENT OF / THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA / FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT / FELICITATION / [signature of artist Henry Hering].
Label TextHenry Hering, the sculptor of this bust of Abraham Lincoln, also created a 1934 statue of Lincoln which is located in University Park, Indianapolis, Indiana.
