Woven in black English lettering and red Chinese characters above the portrait: [English] FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT / [Chinese characters translated to] Mrs. Roosevelt survives. Below the portrait, woven in black Chinese characters is the manufacturer's name followed by the information repeated in English: CHI WEN SILK WEAVING CO. HANGCHOW, CHINA.
