DescriptionA small, glazed, cream-colored earthenware head and shoulders bust of George Washington. He is shown wearing a coat, waistcoat, and cravat. The bust sits on an integrated base. On the reverse of the bust, within a circle, is inscribed the following information: WASHINGTON / Born - - - 1732 / Died - - - 1799 / ENOCH WOOD, SCULP. / 1818. Below the inscribed circle is a relief image of a bald eagle holding a banner with stars in its beak. The number 366 is stamped into the reverse edge of the base.
Adhered on the hollow interior of the base are two small paper stickers. One has a printed and written note: CECIL / BARING / 382. The other sticker has a typed number: D-25-21.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on July 20, 1940. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
