DescriptionA small, handmade 48-star American flag. The flag consists of red and blue sections of mohair fabric appliquéd to a white felt background. The blue canton has star-shaped cutouts. Silver-colored metal bars are attached to the top and bottom of the flag and a looped length of red, white, and blue striped cord is fixed to the top bar. The metal bars allow for hanging the flag, as well as rolling it up.
An adhesive sticker on the reverse of the flag has the typed number: D-2-7.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on July 20, 1940. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
