DescriptionA small World War II service flag. The flag has a single blue star on a white background with a red border.

The flag is glazed and framed in a black wood frame. On the reverse is a paper insert with a printed message that reads: East Forest Park Civic Association / Presents / This Service Flag / To / Franklin Delano Roosevelt / President of The United States / Commander in Chief of Armed Forces / The East Forest Park Civic Association / will be proud to render any service to / either you or your family while in the / service of Your Country.
Label TextDuring World War II, “service flags” like this one were displayed in many American homes. A blue star indicated a family member was serving in the military. It was presented to Franklin Roosevelt by the East Forest Park Civic Association of Springfield, Massachusetts.
