Label TextThe symbol and focal point of the 1939-1940 New York World’s Fair was the 700 ft. tall Trylon and 200 ft. high Perisphere. Models of the Trylon and Perisphere like this one were placed on top of 49 vehicles (representing the 48 states plus Washington, DC) that left the World's Fair on a goodwill tour of the United States. This model was given to Franklin D. Roosevelt and the rest of the models were presented to the governors of each state.Additional Details
