DescriptionA white linen handkerchief onto which has been embroidered "Vive Roosevelt!" in black thread in one corner. The handkerchief has been folded up and framed under glass (with the message visible) in a small, black wood frame with gilt inner trim. Framed with the handkerchief is a small printed note that reads: These handkerchiefs were sold / in Paris at the Maison de Blanc / following the last message of / President Roosevelt to Hitler / May 13, 1939. An adhesive sticker on the reverse of the frame has the number: D-26-4.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on July 20, 1940. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
