DescriptionA Lafayette High School High School Award issued to Eleanor Roosevelt. The award consists of a gold-colored metal plate attached to a natural wood plaque with four gold-colored stars. The metal plate has an inscribed message that reads: "THE LAFAYETTE HIGH SCHOOL / AMITY / OF THE YEAR AWARD / TO / MRS. ELEANOR ROOSEVELT / IN RECOGNITION / FOR HER OUTSTANDING / SERVICE TO HUMANITY / MAY 22, 1962."
Label TextOn May 22, 1962 Eleanor Roosevelt received this award from Lafayette High School in Brooklyn, NY. The award was presented to Mrs. Roosevelt in person at the high school by student Vincent Marmorale, president of the Amity Club. The club, sponsored by the National Conference of Christians and Jews, selected Mrs. Roosevelt for the award as an outstanding person in the field of human relations.Additional Details
