DescriptionA round campaign pin. The pin features left-facing sculpted profiles of Franklin D. Roosevelt and John N. Garner with their names at the bottom of the plaque and the wording A∙NEW∙DAY∙ A∙NEW∙DEAL curved along the left edge of the pin. The artist's signature is along the right edge: © Gutzon Borglum. The manufacturer's information is on the reverse of the pin: Medallic Art Co., New York. 10k.
Label TextDuring the 1932 presidential campaign, a movement to raise funds for the Democratic National Committee was organized in Philadelphia by a group called Shareholders of America. For one dollar or more, contributors could purchase a bronze version of this pin, based on a plaque by Gutzon John Borglum (see MO 1941.41.28).
