DescriptionA long, multi-layered string of coral beads with twelve decorative gold links. A hand, carved from coral, clasps each of the gold links. At the bottom center of the necklace is a pair of cameos, each carved in coral and set on an oval of gold.
Label TextEight-year-old Eleanor inherited this necklace when her mother died in 1892. She wore it often and later gave it to her daughter, Anna. It is on display in the ELEANOR ROOSEVELT exhibit in the Museum’s FOUNDATIONS OF A PUBLIC LIFE gallery.
