Artifact Collection: Political Cartoons

This series contains political cartoons by various artists, mostly original artwork and primarily related to Franklin D. Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt and their politically active period from the early to mid 20th Century. Themes of the cartoons include Franklin D. Roosevelt's presidential campaigns, political situations during his presidency, foreign affairs, World War II, Eleanor Roosevelt, Secretary of the Treasury Henry Morgenthau, Jr., the deaths of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt, and miscellaneous topics. This series also includes a group of cartoons concerning President Roosevelt's famous Scottie dog, Fala. A small group of 18th and 19th Century political cartoons also is included in this series.
