Topics covered in the posters include recruitment, production, conservation and rationing, patriotism, finance, civil defense, public health and safety, women in war, support for allied nations, and demobilization. The World War I posters also include a small group of foreign posters from Britain, Canada, France, and Italy. The World War II posters include a number of foreign posters, some in other languages, either printed in other countries or meant to appeal to foreigners living within the United States.
