Physical DescriptionA needlework sampler featuring the American flag. Centered on the linen material is an embroidered red, white, blue, and gold image of a 48-star American flag on an eagle-topped flagstaff. Gold text embroidered above and below the flag reads: GOD BLESS / AMERICA A bronze-colored cross stitch border surrounds the flag and text. Written along the bottom of the fabric: No 35B SAMPLER PURE LINEN MADE IN U.S.A. BY VOGART F-40.
Historical NoteThis sampler was sent to Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt by Helen Dragovich of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania in November 1940.
