Physical Descriptiona) A 19th century minute-repeater gold pocket watch with an updated, 1942 case lid. On the case lid are the initials "FDR" monogrammed in intertwined gold and black enamel letters. Engraved on the interior of the lid is the inscription: Presented to / President Roosevelt / by / Dr. Roldan / Former Minister of Education / at Dinner of / Lions Club of Havana on / January 30, 1942.

The watch has a skeleton dial which allows a view into the interior mechanism. The crystal watch face has a printed black and gilt bezel and Roman numeral hour markers. Also printed on the crystal is the manufacturer's information: A. FRANKFELD.

Engraved on the reverse of the case is the information: No. 2222 / Répétition à Minutes / REMONTOIR AU PENDANT / Ancre levées visibles 33 rubis / Balancier Chronomètre/ Spiral Breguet / A. Frankfeld / GENÈVE.

Stamped into the interior of the back lid is a maker's mark, the number "2222" and "18K".


b) A blue leather watch box with gilt trim. Stamped on the interior of the lid is the name of a jeweler's firm: Moritz Stumpf & Sohn / Jeweliere / Danzig.
