Physical DescriptionAn unused postcard featuring a reproduction of a black and white photographic image of Alys McKey Bryant. The image shows Bryant, dressed in pilot's gear, standing next to, and leaning on, a biplane. The postcard has an original, handwritten, black ink signature and inscription along the bottom: Alys McKey / Bryant / EB / July 31-1913/ 3 PM / Vancouver, BC / Canada. The reverse side of the postcard, has designated areas for the stamp, message, and address. The postcard is apparently a reprint of an earlier postcard.
The postcard, along with an autobiographical card (see MO 1986.36.3), is an enclosure in a 1938 stamp cover (see MO 1986.36.1) commemorating the 25th anniversary of Alys McKey Bryant's July 31, 1913 flight in Vancouver, British Columbia, the first flight in Canada by a woman.
