Physical DescriptionAn English sterling silver sugar caster or shaker. The caster is bulbous and dome shaped with a turned finial top. A monogram is engraved at the center: AER. A maker's stamp is on the underside of the base: Black Starr & Frost / Sterling 40.
Historical NoteThis sugar caster was one of more than 300 wedding gifts presented to Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. It is on display in the COURTSHIP AND MARRIAGE exhibit in the Museum’s FOUNDATIONS OF A PUBLIC LIFE gallery.
