Physical DescriptionA color poster featuring an illustration of Uncle Sam standing behind a young woman in an active service Red Cross nursing uniform and cape. His left hand rests on her left shoulder. A dramatic sky is in the background. The Red Cross symbol is in the upper left corner of the poster. The artist's facsimile signature is in the lower left corner of the illustration: JAMES MONTGOMERY FLAGG. Along the bottom of the poster, within a blue box, is light yellow text that reads: YOUR RED CROSS NEEDS YOU! Printed in the very bottom lower right corner of the poster: LITHO IN U.S.A.

The poster has a cardboard easel backer.
Historical NoteArtist and illustrator James Montgomery Flagg employed his familiar Uncle Sam figure in this wartime poster for the American Red Cross.
