In the left forefront of the scene is an outdoor oven being operated by two soldiers who are also using a makeshift table behind them to hold food items. The artwork is by Alfred Dewey. The lower section of the poster consists of black text, on a white background, that reads: WANTED! / 500 BAKERS FOR THE U.S. ARMY / (ALSO 100 COOKS) / . . . The printer's information is in small text in the lower right corner of the poster: NATIONAL PTG. & ENG. CO., N. Y.
