Physical DescriptionA color poster featuring an illustration of three uniformed and helmeted U.S. Marines wading forward through waves and water (towards the viewer) while holding their rifles up over the waterline. Seen in the background are several military ships and an airplane flies in the sky above. The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower right corner of the image: JAMES MONTGOMERY FLAGG. Red and blue text on and below the illustration reads: “’THE MARINES HAVE LANDED-!’ / APPLY TO NEAREST RECRUITING STATION.”
