In her hands she holds a world globe, and on the ground in front of her is a radio. In the upper right quadrant of the poster is a simulated handwritten letter page from Margie about saving money. Historical NoteModel Margie Stewart (1919-2012) appeared in a popular series of U.S. Army posters that encouraged soldiers to buy war bonds and save money for their postwar lives. She was often depicted writing letters to a boyfriend in the service. Stewart was a wartime celebrity and appeared alongside Hollywood stars in war bond tours.Additional Details
