Historical NoteCreated by Connecticut artist Glenn Grohe, this poster was designed to remind defense workers that loose talk might be overheard by enemy spies. However, a government survey concluded that many workers didn’t understand the poster’s message. Some associated the foreboding figure (which resembles the Darth Vader character from Star Wars) with their boss or foreman.Produced by the U.S. Government Printing Office for the Division of Information, Office For Emergency Management, poster no. 1942-O-455330.
