Physical DescriptionA color poster featuring an illustration of an injured soldier hunched over, his left hand over his face from which blood is flowing, and his right hand over his stomach as his rifle falls to the ground. A stormy, tropical landscape is behind him with other soldiers visible in the background. Yellow and white text at the top of the poster reads: CARELESS TALK / Got there First. The artist's facsimile signature is in the lower right corner of the illustration: Ray Prohaska.

The poster was printed by the U.S. Government Printing Office, poster no. 1944-O-576497.
