The categories of insignia represented are “The Arms,” “The Services,” “Miscellaneous,” “Commissioned Officers’ Insignia of Rank,” “Cap Insignia,” and “Enlisted Men’s Insignia of Rank and Service.” At the bottom of the poster is additional information on the insignia and four illustrations on how each type of insignia should be worn. Printed along the bottom edge of the poster: “HISTORICAL INFORMATION OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY PRESENTED BY THE U. S. ARMY RECRUITING SERVICE.”
