The names of the artists are printed in the lower right corner of the illustration: “DAN V. SMITH • ALBRO F. DOWNE.” Text below the illustration states: “KEEP 'EM FLYING' IS OUR BATTLE CRY! FIRST CLASS FIGHTING MEN NEEDED.” The message is followed by specific recruitment text aimed separately at aviation cadets and soldiers, and ending with the line, “APPLY TODAY AT ANY U. S.
