Historical NoteThis watercolor (Me. 1918 - Ca-43) was created for the Works Progress Administration (WPA) Index of American Design by the Maine Art Project, Federal Art Project, Works Progress Administration. It depicts a figurehead likely from the packet ship, CONGRESS. The figurehead was once in the collection of investment banker Loyall Sewall of Bath, Maine.
