Physical DescriptionA color poster promoting enlistment in the U.S. Navy. The poster features a large illustration showing a nighttime water scene. In the foreground is a Nazi U-boat that has been split in half by artillery fired from a U.S. Navy ship seen in the background. A explosive white cloud issuing from the wrecked submarine has red and black text that reads: THUNDER ON / SAIL ON / DEMOCRACY! The artist's name is in the lower right corner of the artwork: FRANK SANFILIPPO / U.S.N.R. Along the bottom of the poster, on a black band, is white text that says: ENLIST TODAY IN THE UNITED STATES NAVY.
