Physical DescriptionA color poster encouraging enlistment in the U.S. Naval Reserve’s WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service). The poster features an illustrated head and shoulders portrait of a woman dressed in a WAVES uniform including a “U. S. NAVY” hat. To her left is the heading, “Women 20 to 36 / EARN A NAVY RATING / Based on Navy Training and Your Own Ability and Experience / Same Grades – Same Pay – As For Men.” This is followed by a chart titled “STEPS IN ADVANCEMENT” with information and rating badges, as well as illustrated "SPECIALTY MARKS.” Below the chart, additional text reads: “JOIN THE WAVES / APPLY TO YOUR NEAREST NAVY RECRUITING STATION OR OFFICE OF NAVAL OFFICER PROCUREMENT.”
