Physical DescriptionA color poster featuring a large illustration of a U.S. Coast Guard officer and a sailor against the background of a dramatic sky, and with a sail partially visible on the left side. The officer, dressed in a long coat and uniform cap, has a pair of binoculars hanging around his neck. Standing to the right of him is the sailor, dressed in a peacoat and uniform hat, who has his hands on a ship’s wheel. The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower right corner of the image: “L. W. Bentley 42 / U.S.C.G. R.” Black, red, and white text below the illustration has the message: “SETTING THE COURSE TO Victory WITH THE U.S. COAST GUARD.” Additional small text along the bottom has the poster information: “42 – 43 / LITHO. IN U.S.A.”
