Physical DescriptionA black, red, white, and gray poster illustrating the movement process for soldiers on temporary duty versus on rotation. At the top, in black text on a red background, is the heading “Here’s what happens . . .” Below the title, the poster is divided into two sections, each with red and white text and simple line drawing illustrations of various ships and military buildings on black backgrounds.

The left side is titled, “ON TEMPORARY DUTY,” and shows an illustrated soldier starting an arrowed route that goes “FROM ORGANIZATION / TO OVERSEAS PORT / TO U.S. PORT / TO RECEPTION STATION,” finally ending at “Home Sweet Home for 45 days” followed by another arrowed route following the same path in reverse.

The right side is titled, “ON ROTATION,” and shows an arrowed route in only one direction which goes “FROM OVERSEAS PORT / TO U.S. PORT / TO RECEPTION STATION / TO FURLOUGH / TO REDISTRIBUTION STATION / TO NEW ASSIGNMENT” at which is seen the illustration of a uniformed soldier walking along with a large sack over his shoulder. A calendar page showing “21 days” is at the center of the arrowed route.
