Physical DescriptionA Spanish language poster promoting inter-American solidarity during World War II. The poster features a large graphic illustration of a white ghostly figure of a soldier holding a rifle rising up from the continents of North and South America against a graduated blue background. Spanish text in white at the bottom of the poster reads: "COMO UN SOLO HOMBRE” [AS ONE MAN]. The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower right corner of the poster: “ARIAS BERNAL.”

Historical NotePresident Roosevelt created the Office of the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs during World War II to counter Italian and German propaganda in Latin America and promote political, economic, and cultural ties with the United States.
