Physical DescriptionA Spanish language poster, titled “UNIDOS PARA LA VICTORIA” [United for Victory], promoting inter-American solidarity during World War II. The poster features a large illustration of a “V” (for Victory) with the cartoon heads of an American soldier and a Latin American on it. The “V” is pinning down the caricature figures of Axis leaders Adolf Hitler of Germany, and Benito Mussolini of Italy, and Emperor Hirohito of Japan. The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower left corner of the poster: “ARIAS BERNAL.”

Printed in small text along the bottom of the poster: "Publicado por El Coordinador de Asuntos Interamericanos, Washington, E. U. A.”
Historical NotePresident Roosevelt created the Office of the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs during World War II to counter Italian and German propaganda in Latin America and promote political, economic, and cultural ties with the United States. He appointed Nelson Rockefeller as the Coordinator.
