Physical DescriptionA poster featuring a large black and white photograph of a group of wounded soldiers laid out on stretchers along the floor of what appears to be a landing craft, vehicle, personnel (LCVP) boat. In the upper left corner of the poster is a large red rectangle with white text reading: The more / we produce, / the quicker / this will end. The text is followed by the Great Seal of the United States and the words: U.S. ARMY OFFICIAL POSTER. Additional small text in the bottom margin of the poster reads: I.S.D. No. 140 / U.S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE: 944-O-572037.
Historical NoteDuring the war’s final years the government began employing stark posters like this one to maintain the resolve and effort of defense workers.
