Physical DescriptionA remnant of a German incendiary bomb. The bomb fragment, made of green-painted metal, is cone-shaped at the bottom with three rigid exterior panels that meet at the end in a circular ring.
Historical NoteA British government official in the Ministry of Information sent this bomb fragment to FDR’s secretary, Marguerite LeHand, after a German bombing raid on London in 1941. It is on display in the PREPARING FOR WAR, HOPING FOR PEACE exhibit in the Museum’s WORLD WAR II gallery.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on October 16, 1941. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
