Physical DescriptionA color poster featuring an illustration of Uncle Sam helping a woman and child move forward. In front of them is an injured Chinese soldier, carrying a rifle, with a bloodied bandage wrapped around his head. Fire and smoke are seen in the background. Red and black text at the top and bottom of the poster reads: HELP CHINA! / CHINA IS HELPING US / UNITED CHINA RELIEF. Additional small text in lower left corner reads: LITHO. IN U.S.A. A union bug is in the lower right. The artwork is by James Montgomery Flagg.
Historical NoteJames Montgomery Flagg employed his familiar Uncle Sam figure in this poster for United China Relief, a wartime aid organization based in the United States.
