Physical DescriptionA Spanish language poster, titled “LIBERTAD DE CULTOS" [Freedom of Worship], promoting inter-American solidarity during World War II. The poster features a large illustration of a dagger, backed by a white cross, piercing a tattered Nazi flag. Text at the bottom of the poster reads: "UNA DE LAS CUATRO LIBERTADES POR LAS QUE LUCHAN LOS ALIADOS.” The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower right of the poster: “E. McKnight Kauffer ’42.”

Historical NotePresident Roosevelt created the Office of the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs during World War II to counter Italian and German propaganda in Latin America and promote political, economic, and cultural ties with the United States. He appointed Nelson Rockefeller as the Coordinator. This poster is one in a series created by the Office of the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs depicting Franklin D.
