The two soldiers in the center each carry a flag, one the flag of the United States and the other a blue flag with a variation of the eagle on the Great Seal of the United States. Text above and below the images reads: “U•S•ARMY / GUARDIAN OF THE COLORS.” The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower right corner of the artwork: “Tom Woodburn.”
