The battlefield image depicts an American soldier in a foxhole, aiming a machine gun. The homefront image shows an American miner at work in a mine, wielding a drilling tool. Text between the two drawings reads, “TWO FOX-HOLES DEFENDING AMERICA." The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower left of the artwork: “ROLLIN KIRBY.”
