Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Army production poster titled “Instructions to a Saboteur . .” The black and white poster features a drawn illustration of Adolf Hitler standing on a dock next to German U-boat “U27”. He watches an older man in civilian clothes, carrying a box and binocular case, begin to descend into the submarine through the conning tower. Hitler instructs the man, “UND CONVINCE DER AMERICAN MINERS IT ISSN'T IMPORTANT TO MINE METALS QUICK.” The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower right of the artwork: “ROLLIN KIRBY.”
