Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. conservation poster. The color poster features a cartoon-like illustration of a family of squirrels – one on a tree limb and three others in a tree hole behind it – watching with horror as the flames of a raging forest fire approach their home. A text block over the illustration states: “ANOTHER ENEMY TO CONQUER / FOREST FIRES / NINE OUT OF TEN CAN BE PREVENTED.” The unidentified artist’s initials are in the lower right quadrant of the illustration: “B.T.”
