Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Army conservation poster titled “DANGER!” The black, white, and orange poster features a graphic illustration of a lit cigarette igniting the surface below it, causing flames to rise up around it. Text below the illustration states: “grind out every butt! / CIGARETTES CAUSED 1700 FIRES IN ARMY BUILDINGS LAST YEAR.”

In the bottom margin of the poster is the U.S. Army Conservation Program “SAVE” logo and small text that reads: “Army Conservation Project No. 158-E-37 / U.S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE 1945—O-643154."

Printed on the reverse side of the poster are instructions for posting and distribution.
