Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Army conservation poster titled “STOP Starting TROUBLE." The yellow, black, and white poster features a graphic illustration of a U.S. Army mechanic using a battery hydrometer on an equipment battery. To the right of the illustration is text that states, “Maintenance Mike says: Here’s How . . .,” followed by a numbered 10-point list of proper battery maintenance. Below the list is a reference to War Department Technical Bulletin TB ORD 67 on storage batteries, and the words “DO IT NOW!”

In the lower left quadrant of the poster is the U.S. Army Conservation Program “SAVE” logo. Small text in the bottom margin of the poster reads: “Army Conservation Project No. 106-0-15 / U. S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE : 1944-O-594367.”

Printed on the reverse side of the poster are instructions for posting and distribution.
