Physical DescriptionA large red, white, and blue 48-star American flag handmade out of carpet warp. The reverse of the flag is lined with pink cotton fabric and has metal grommets along the top.
Historical NoteThis handmade flag was sent to Franklin Roosevelt in January 1942 by the maker, Grace Thompson of Sterling, Illinois. The flag used 21,800 yards of carpet warp and took 1 year, 1 month, 17 days to make.Additional Details
