Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Army production poster. The color poster features an artwork illustration of a bald eagle with outspread wings, perched on the staff of an American flag that is partially draped over a shield. The text on the shield reads, “PLEDGE OF THE SOLDIER OF SUPPLY / We are at War . . . .” This is followed by several paragraphs detailing the commitment of war laborers, concluding with the statement, “Every Civilian Member of the Army Supply Services is a Soldier of Supply.” An unidentified artist’s facsimile signature is located below the flag.

The bottom of the poster displays the insignias and names of seven United States Army Supply Services: Ordnance Department, Signal Corps, Corps of Engineers, Chemical Warfare Service, Medical Department, Quartermaster Corps, and Transportation Corps.

Additional small text in the bottom margin of the poster reads: “[Great Seal of the United States] ARMY SERVICE FORCES DEPOTS / U. S. Government Printing Office : 1943—O-517760."
