Physical DescriptionA small World War II U.S. Army conservation poster. The brown, white, and blue poster features a cartoon illustration of a soldier in a bathroom. Wearing a towel around his waist and carrying his shaving supplies, he wades through knee-deep water, away from an overflowing sink with the faucet still running. Pointing to the faucet is a large brown arrow with the words “turn it off!”
In the upper right corner of the poster are the words, “POST IN ALL LATRINES.” Along the bottom of the poster are distribution instructions, the U.S. Army Conservation Program “SAVE” logo, and small text that reads: “ACP No. 155-E-35 / U.S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE : 1945—O-640473.”
