Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Army conservation poster. The color poster features a graphic illustration of an arm with a clenched fist. On the underside of the arm is a gauze pad wrapped with medical tape from a round dispenser next to it. Text on the poster states, “USE IT FOR ONLY WHAT IT WAS MADE FOR! NEVER FOR THIS!” followed by illustrations of a travel bag, baseball equipment, and a pin-up picture all showing inappropriate usage of medical tape.

Also at the bottom of the poster is the U.S. Army Conservation Program “SAVE” logo and small text that reads: “ARMY CONSERVATION PROJECT No. 30-M-3.”

Printed on the reverse side of the poster are instructions for posting and distribution and “U.S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE : 1943—O-560103.”
