Physical DescriptionA color poster featuring, at the top, a red horizontal section on which is a grayscale cartoon illustration of a cooking range that is saluting and seen saying: YES, SIR! / NO BURNT FOOD / NO UNDERCOOKING / NO BAKING FAILURES / MEALS ON TIME! At the center of the poster, is a grayscale illustration of a large cooking range on a white background. The image is titled above in black text that reads: HOW TO HANDLE A G.I. RANGE. Three red circles, with black instructional text inside each, are linked to various parts of the stove by red directional arrows. Below the illustration of the range, within an orange band, is the text, "TO EFFICIENTLY OPERATE COAL-BURNING KITCHEN RANGES FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS," followed by ten numbered steps.

The U.S. Army Conservation Program "SAVE" logo is located along the left side of the poster, along with additional small text below it, and to the right, that reads: U.S. ARMY CONSERVATION PROJECT No. 125-E-30 / U.S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE : 1944 O-617339.

The poster was to be displayed in all kitchens where coal-burning ranges were used.
