Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Navy conservation poster titled “DON’T BE FINICKY!” The orange, black, and white poster features a comic-like illustration of a distraught sailor seated on a stool crying. Two other sailors walk by him, each carrying a tray of food, as one of them remarks, "HE HAD HIS HEART SET ON PÂTÉ DE FOIE GRAS!" A text box below the illustration reads: “NAVY CHOW IS THE BEST! / TAKE ALL YOU CAN EAT / EAT ALL YOU TAKE!" The artist’s facsimile signature is below the illustration: "HOTCHKISS USNR.”
