Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Army production poster titled “Unlock the Door . . . . QUICK!” The black and white poster features a drawn illustration of an American soldier and a helmeted American miner standing before a set of heavy wooden doors. The doors are labeled “MORE TANKS PLANES GUNS” and are secured shut by a large padlock marked “NOT ENOUGH COPPER ZINC LEAD.” The soldier points towards the padlock and tells the miner, who holds a large key labeled “MORE ORE,” that “YOU’RE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN DO IT!” The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower left of the artwork: “ROLLIN KIRBY.”
