Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Army production poster titled “Something to think about.” The black and white poster features a drawn illustration of two American soldiers in a foxhole with a machine gun. One of the soldiers, Bill, is holding a letter from a miner that reads, “Dear Bill: I thought I’d take a day off from the mine today, the weather is so . . .” An aggravated Bill says to his fellow soldier, “GET A LOAD OF THIS, WILL YOU! DON'T THEY KNOW WE CAN'T FIGHT UNLESS WE GET ENOUGH METAL?” The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower right of the artwork: “ROLLIN KIRBY.”
