Physical DescriptionA small World War II U.S. Army conservation poster. The red, white, and black poster features a comic illustration of a soldier carelessly flinging a broken checkerboard, a broken paddle, checkers, and a Ping-Pong ball through a “RETURN” window. Next to this is another scene of a soldier (possibly the same one) receiving the broken checkerboard and paddle from an “ISSUE” window. Accompanying text states: “RETURN IT IN GOOD CONDITION / YOU MAY WANT TO USE IT AGAIN!”

Along the bottom of the poster is the U.S. Army Conservation Program “SAVE” logo, and small text that reads: “ACP No. 99-P-15 (5) / GPO 617287.” Distribution instructions are at the top and bottom of the poster.
